By: Annadel Gob - TIII of TWCS III
A three-day Webinar on Development of Multimedia Materials, through the leadership of Aniano M. Ogayon, CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent, was conducted July 1-3, and was attended by 1,100 teaching and non-teaching personnel of SDO Tayabas.
SDS Ogayon graced the webinar emphasizing the importance of technology.
He said, “This webinar is another way of re-skilling our teachers through multimedia and in preparation for the opening of the school year on August 24. We need to embrace these challenges and capacitate our teachers with new learning platforms.”
It was facilitated by Dr.Christian Bables, EPS in Filipino, Annadel O. Gob, Lorynel De Sagun, Niel Orven Talavera, Dianne Cabuyao, Akeem Aron Valdeavilla, and Elizabeth M. Aquino.
The webinar was co-sponsored by The Philippines Updates and Love Heart.
The Philippine Updates is a multi-media platform like print and online news, online internet radio and tv programs, engaged in the dissemination of news, entertainment and other audio and video content that fits the new trend nowadays through the advent of Information Communication Technology.
The webinar was delivered using the studio of Love Heart Anchor Annadel O. Gob, news correspondent of the Philippine Updates and a Teacher III of TWCS III. With her simple equipment, IV Cam, Droid Cam, head phones, BM Mic Condenser, Mixer, and OBS.
The webinar focused on the development and utilization of Kotobee Author, Kotobee Reader, Wix, Bitmoji, Google Classroom, Google Slides, Bitnami and Moodle.
The process of the webinar came with the instruction and demonstration of the facilitators; participants were given enough time to do the hands-on activities.
The facilitators were able to switch four different virtual cameras: one for the guest, one for the facilitators, one for the slide decks and hands-on activity and another camera for the hosts.
The global transition to remote work and remote education has triggered tremendous demand for teachers’ video conferencing and webinar software. It turned out to be a fundamental tool to keep education and learning going. From now on, running and joining webinars comes even more handy – with a new version of the webinar using Open Broadcasting Software (OBS).
Imelda Raymundo, Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) Chief, challenged the participants during the closing ceremony.
Welfare of our teachers ang ating iniisip.
Teacher Laura Rivadinera, 59 years old of Tayabas West Central School III accepted the challenge.
Walang maiiwang mag-aaral at gurong Tayabasin,” said Rivadinera.
The Philippine Updates thanked and congratulated SDO Tayabas for the noble project.
