BY: DR. GENER C. DELOS REYES, Principal IV /DR. MA. AILLEN A. AVERILLA, Master Teacher I Luis Palad Integrated High School
In its quest to deliver quality learning in its new form, Luis Palad Integrated High School launched its Public Assistance Command Center, a platform for Paladian customers to express issues, comments and feedback regarding the implementation of modular distance learning, October 5.
This initiative is based on Deped Memorandum no. 53, s. 2020, Joint implementing Guidelines on the 2020 Brigada Eskwela and Oplan Balik Eskwela Relative to the Covid 19 Situation where schools are tasked to fully assist the preparation of stakeholders in the implementation for school year 2020-2021.
To reach its nearly 7, 000 enrollees distributed in 70 different barangays in all of Tayabas City, including Lucena, Sariaya, Lucban, Mauban and Pagbilao, the established Public Assistance Command Center served as quick response unit to address the inquiries and challenges faced by parents, students and barangay officials in the implementation of modular distance learning.
To ensure that learning materials are actually delivered to students, as stated in the school’s Learning Continuity Plan, the school set up 6 internet connected computers with 12 teachers assigned in rotation to collect feedback, inquiries, suggestions and challenges from the community.
Some common concerns gathered during the implementation of the program include students who were unable to receive their modules due to transfer of residence, late enrolment or misplaced modules. Meanwhile some inquiries identified are about late enrolment and transfer of students. An average of 10 issues were resolved every day during the first few days of the implementation.
“Maganda ang pamamaraan ng Luis Palad Integrated High School dahil naaayos nito agad ang problema sa delivery ng mga modyuls para sa bata ” said Barangay Captain, Fedelito Qionio, the representative of all the Barangay Captains during the Kick-off Ceremony.
The team also created Facebook page where FB live programs are conducted daily informing the public on the updates about the new learning delivery modality as well as the support the school is extending to the students. The same page is also utilized by official FB page of all 70 barangays to collect some inquiries and/or updates about the school opening.
Dr. Gener C. De Los Reyes, Principal IV plans to use the same mechanism to reinforce learning of students. Knowing that ninety percent of learning are active FB users, he plans to allow the Department Heads, Masters Teachers and Teachers to teach lesson using FB live.
The school principal believes that whatever the circumstances may be, Paladians will receive quality education. True to its mantra, “Tuloy ang edukasyon sa mga batang Paladian."
